Essentially, Yes.
The company will train you to do what ever it wants. College is only a
certificate that certifies you're trainable to a certain level. In my
first civilian job, there was 1 history major, 1 Biology major, 2
poli-sci majors, and me. We were all supervision.
try being a lawyer without a degree and you will find out!
Not only a career but you will always have that knowledge to
help you in every day life. Knowledge is Power.
YOU GET THE REAL EDUCATION AFTER COLLEGE.
Well the way the jobs have gone down the tubes don't go for a
business degree at this rate their may not be any businesses around for
you to work at when you get out of school. I say learn some type of skill
that will be needed you will be better off in the long run such as an
electrician, mechanic, plumber
Basically there are two things that you need for a career.
Education, and work experience. Work experience is honestly better than a
degree, but without a degree you might not get moved up as far as you want
to go. Also you will make more money with a degree. A degree gives you
basic knowledge that will help you no matter what career you take.
They all vary.
Some are useful.
My degree in electronics and computers has aided me in many fields.
My degree in psychology aids me in understanding bureaucratic crap/
I look it more as something that helps develop your character
and skills, making you more marketable, enriching your life and broadening
your understanding.
I couldn't imagine viewing my life and my personage as little more than a
tool for subsistence.
Only if you believe the only value people have is the amount of
money they can earn. Personally, I put a lot of value in having a thorough
and well-rounded understanding of my world. Therefore, I saw college as
more than just a stepping stone to a good career.
