is working for the FBI (say, special agent) a good stepping stone for something more meaningful
currently l work for a division of a company who reviews calculations for
its projects in their nuclear power plants. I am a civil engineer, so l
review structural calcs ...but l feel like l belong some place
where l can make a difference l figured working for FBl might look
good on my resume if l wanna get involved in politics l meet all the
requirements for the FBl except for age
if you want to get involved in politics, the FBI is a good
start provided that you want to run for president, be in a presidential
cabinet position, or continue with the NSA or other top level agency.
If you want to be more local (mayor, Congressman/woman, Senator) the FBI
might be a bit much. Become a lawyer; much easier & easier to get out of.
Remember, the FBI doesn't just take anyone. They like people with law degrees, police experience, foreign language proficiency, or other top-shelf skills (code breaking, game theory, ballistics expertise). You will need to move to Cuantico, Va for some time. They have a very rigorous mental & physical training regime. You will also need to pass apex-level security clearance (Barack Obama wouldn't clear this by the way) so keep the skeletons out of the closet.
